We having our first playtest in multiplayer mode after the proposal with limited materials have, so, when we really execute the game rule, we found that there so many error exists. How does the row turn (game flow) if two player are sit in opposite are allies, also the heal function card heal too much (big heal +15hp). Then, in single mode, the total hp set on the board is 50hp, it will take more 1 hours to finish one game.
In addition, Yi-ting's sister helped us to calculate the possibilities with maths, because the original deck is 1-13, and since the dice we used is only 1-6, there is a chance that we won't be able to win some of the numbers. In order to rationalise the game, a 1-6 deck would ensure that the game would be played more efficiently.
Although the game board draw randomly, the player pieces cannot place properly to indicate where they are.

The game board redesign again with 40hp and line on the right is for the Trojan Tower Hp indicators and the rectangles are used to place cards. We set up only 11-30hp can use the wild cards.

In this playtest, we played both multiplayer and single player mode and found one issue that will possible faced by the players, gank up. Me and Qian Qian are allies, while Yiting and Dean are enemies. The enemies wild cards where used on me instead of teammates t prevent me over 11hp and gank up on QianQian to push her forward until 35hp. Even though I still have wild cards to save my ally, but I does not exceed 11hp so I can't use it. Other than that, we found the game rule all okay that we change the together attack mode to individual attack mode but still exists of ally.

Because we didn't have bring any dice and game pieces, so we used something represent ourselves and use mobile as the dice. Also set a reminder that the number card from 7-9,JQK are replaced to 1-6, so we have total of 6 sets of equipment card (number card). In our playtest, I feel that the simple asset we used, the bond between us stronger and create more memories.

After analyzing the feedback given from the player perspective, I found that there's is a similar experience with others. The main point of the feedback were not enough of excitement and encounter repetitive challenge.
Thus, changes were made on the limitation of using wild card was change from 1-10 & 31-40 to only usable after 10hp. The instruction paper were written for the Alpha playtest preparation.

Actually the alpla playtest has been proceeds twice, but the first playtest recording has lost, only left the second alpha playtest recording.
Different from Pre-Alpha playtest, our alpha playtest included 2 new players from other group , two player from the original group and one observer. The players from original group acts as game guide to guide the new player.

The feedback only written by the new players. Although the new players were satisfied with the overall game and play experiences, game rules still need to be improved to make them more dynamic. I also joined as one of the game guide in alpha playtest, I can feel that the new player cannot immerse in the game experience, player takes time to think about tactics and less interactions between players. The second playtest more lively, players interact with each other and pay more attention on the game, but this game only play with 30hp.
To increase the excitement, Ms Anis suggest that maybe using 5~10sec timer for players to take turns. However, the minimum timer we research from online and physical just 1 minute. Therefore, we add on the game rules on the instruction papers, the player can count from 10 if the player takes too much time on taking next move. When count until 10, the player still does not take any action, then the player only can take move in next turn.

In proposal, our idea was using chess pieces as the player pieces, but our game concept become more clearer as we know the aim of the game is attack other so we decided to use tower ("Rook" in chess) as a symbol of defence of a kingdoms.
Number Card

This first draft of number card just a rough ideation proposed by Yiting. The improvement made were make it colour consistent and match our colour scheme. I like more aesthetic and meaningful design. Before I redesigned the number card, I created a pinterest board for me have a visual reference. Also, frames for me are suitable for expressing content and not for back card designs.

The draft template was created by Amrita, the circle for the illustration, while the box was for the wild card name and details. The issue faced was some of the wild card have longer description that not fit enough within the box.

The green box were designed to place element or illustration that fits our design. I feel quite stuck on the game board design because the overall design style still inconsistent and in progression.
