User Research
In week 5, the next progression on this project are plan a user research to gather users experience and perspective. There are two methods, the suggested method are questionnaire survey and interviews are another option to conduct user research. Although conduct both user research method will be the best way to gather the data, however due to time constraint, Mr Shamsul prefer we to pick one method only.

The chosen application for redesign boasts a straightforward interface with limited features, making it well-suited for the implementation of survey methods. This decision was primarily driven by the need for a quantitative approach, facilitating a comprehensive analysis of the gathered data. With a focus on user feedback and preferences, the survey method is expected to provide valuable insights for creating an improved and more user-friendly application interface.

Questionnaire Survey Question Design

Fig 1.1 Finalized Outline of Survey Question

After two weeks of finalizing the survey question, the survey has been published on instagram and physically. I asked some of the classmates from other courses filled up the form and visited Taylor shuttle bus stop seek for respondents, but the responses does not reach the limit of 50 responses. Week 8 is independent learning week, this initiate I have no contact to Taylors students due to I back to my hometown. The plan b that has been implement is get the responses through instagram. I seek Taylorians in my follow list, and sent the invitation of filing the survey. Finally, the maximum limit I reached is 48 responses. User research really takes time to gain data and analysis.

MVP (Minimum Viable Product) Features

Fig 1.3 MVP

The minimum number of MVP is three, and user feedback is not part of the features that should not included in the mvp. However, due the straightforward features of EUP-GPS app, the minimum number of MVP i can state is two.

Card Sorting
Fig 1.3  Instruction

At the time of the survey, I had indicated that I was looking for volunteers for the card sorting and user testing sessions. Therefore, I sent the link to the card sorting session to 5 volunteers who left their contact details. In case the participants did not understand the meaning of the word, I included an image of each of the relevant categories.

Fig 1.4 Close Card Sorting

There are 12 cards in total as functions, some of which are based on the current EUP-GPS application and some of which I felt the need to enter. When creating the categories I found it a bit confusing as the functions were scattered and few, so I just divided the categories into different menus based on the current design.

Fig 1.6 Information Architecture

According to the results, a newly designed information architecture has been formed. I feel that the number of participants was too low, perhaps if 7 people had participated, the results would have been more obvious, resulting in a more reliable information architecture.

User Journey

Fig 1.7 User Journey Map

Fig 1.8 User Flow

The user journey and user flow is based on my experience as a user in exploring and discovering the functionality of the application to meet my requirements. There are a large number of pain points that can be identified from the user journey that can be avoided in the new design.

There is some error in exporting the user flow image to the slides, I have tried many way to preventing it become blur, but the reason being blur is unknown because the way of exporting the user journey map is the same.

Feedback

Week 5
The user interface cannot be included as the Minimum Viable Product (MVP) features. In my case, I can have only two mvp features. The survey question should include race and the motivation. The answer choices in the survey questions can have more than one "maybe" option, as some people may not have as straightforward an answer.

Week 6
After amended the necessary improvement, the survey can be release for other to fill in.

Week 8
Independent Learning Week

Week 9
Take note in the shape of flow chart, different shapes have its own meaning. The user journey map is based on current app and just based on each section to summarize and analyse the survey data.
