Figure 2.1 Poorly Constructed Infographics Poster
The image above is taken from a website which is used to educate on the 11 mistakes to avoid in infographics. This a statistic infographic which has 100% single choice results of bar chart, so a pie chart is more suitable used to present the data. The infographic in figure is show in bar chart format but it is not presented in descending order which makes it more difficult to understand and compare the data. The other parts are the title and the factors use too many words which can be more simplified to be easily understand.
To choose the right type of chart:
a. Compare Values
- Bar Chart
- Line Chart
b. The individual parts that make up a whole
- Pie Chart
- Stacked Bar
- Stacked Column
c. Comprehend the relationship between data sets
With the data and information from the website, I choose Visme as the online tool to redesign the infographic poster. The template is given when I search the keyword with statistical infographic. The infographic is redesigned into pie chart format and reselection on the color and icon of the data. Red colour is picked for the major factors which have the large percentage. Visme really easy to use and there is a animated graphics which can light up my mood when I doing the infographics. The animated graphics also can be use in the presentation slide to enhance the visual effect. However, some of the graphics is unable to find in the animated graphics icon, such as public service. Additionally, the website is not free, so I have to screenshot my work that makes it low resolution jpg. There a plenty variety of design templates and option for you to choose, it still a recommended online tool if you didn't mind to become a member.
