After Mr. Vinod give us a briefing about the competition, me and my teammate, Slyvia discussed our red packet design together. We all agreed that our red packet design would be rabbit-themed and that the illustrative style would be cute. We all came up with our ideas and draw out our own ideas. Slyvia's idea was to use the rabbit as an element to apply repetition and unity and mine was to use the rabbit as an element to apply harmony and unity.
I would apply some Chinese's element into the design, so I did some visual research about it.

The first idea was to express the endless amount of money that falls from the sky. I did some research and illustrate the coins. The money wouldn't fit very well in the air and would complicate the overall, so I used lines instead. That Chinese text in the top right corner is congratulations on the prosperity. But in the feedback, I realized that teammate and I had forgotten about the theme! We had to redesign it and we both went back to our original design and make changes on it. I develop the idea of a family watching the firework together.

FEEDBACK
Week 12 :
The design does not fit the theme of the competition, but Mr. Vinod like the contrast of white rabbit and red background. The coins is a bit to much. Redesign it to fit the theme. Remember to follow the dimension given.
Reflections
It is a good experience to participate in Jaya Grocer Angpao competition which give me the opportunity to design 2023 angpao. I participate in this competition with purpose too, I would like to design an angpao for my mother. I remember my mother like the meaning congratulations on the prosperity then I develop my idea on it. Thus, I take a lesson on it. Next time, If I have participate the others competition, I must remember the theme of it and not make the same mistake. I have noticed that mostly angpao is a simple or we can millenarist design which uses visual elements such as lines and irregular shapes. The colour uses in the angpao mostly harmonious and unity. All the angpao have one similarity, deliver good wishes to others.
Flat design is a user interface design style that uses simple, two-dimensional elements and bright colors. It is often contrasted to the skeuomorphic style that gives the illusion of three dimensions through copying real-life properties.
A flat color is an area of color painted in a uniform or identical tone and hue, but getting acrylic paints to dry completely flat and streak-free can be challenging for beginner painters. The vivid color palette used in flat UI colors design strikes the eye at once. Unlike traditional color schemes using two or three shades, flat layouts are painted in four or more colors. Very often these are fully saturated hues combined with dark colors like gray or black.
Figure 4.2 Monotone color scheme examples
Monotone color schemes are one of the easiest and most effective ways to use a lot of color without falling into the design trap or creating a site that feels chaotic (a common issue with vibrantly colored web interfaces). This type of color scheme also allows a company to use colors in ways that might live outside of their traditional branding without worry of matching or issues with readability.
